Why NDID?
North Dakota Interior Designers is a non-profit organization independent of commercial interest that promotes Interior Design as a profession. As an organization, NDID provides a forum for continuing education, networking professionals, social interaction, and support from other Interior Designers throughout the state of North Dakota and western Minnesota.

Membership Levels
Professional Membership 
Professional members are actively engaged in the profession of Interior Design or Interior Design education.    Applicants for professional membership must meet one of the following groups of standards to be a Professional member of NDID:
  • Four-year Bachelor’s degree majoring in Interior Design plus 2 years full time practice under a Professional Interior Designer and have passed NCIDQ.
  • Four-year Bachelor’s degree majoring in Interior Design plus 2 years full time practice under a Professional Interior Designer after degree achievement.
  • Minimum of seven years experience with two or four years of post-secondary education and 3 years minimum full time residential kitchen/bath design for a combined total of 7 years total experience and have passed the CKD/CBD.
  • Architects that hold a four-year degree in Interior Design having two years full time practice under a Professional Interior Designer. (See 1/4/07 meeting minutes)
Allied Membership
Allied members are actively engaged in the profession of Interior Design. Applicants for this membership level are working towards the education requirements of the NCIDQ, CKD/CBD exam or equivalent.
  • Four-year Bachelor’s degree majoring in Interior Design with less than 2 years full time practice under a Professional Interior Designer after degree achievement.
  • Two-year Associate in Applied Science degree majoring in Interior Design plus 4-years full time practice under a Professional Interior Designer.
  • Architects that hold less than a four-year degree in Interior Design having two years full time practice under a Professional Interior Designer.
Associate Membership
Members are actively engaged in a field of expertise that is directly related to the Interior Design industry (lighting designers or, landscape architects, architects or Interior Designers not currently practicing, etc.) Please provide business card.
Student Membership
Student membership is available to those that are majoring in Interior Design at an accredited school and are currently enrolled full time in either their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of Interior Design courses.
Industry Partner Membership
Industry Partner Membership is available to manufacturers, suppliers and field representatives who support the profession of Interior Design.  These members are those who wish to network with designers and keep them informed of new product developments that affect the design profession.

Applications are accepted October 1st through December 31st. A late fee will apply to any application received after this date. Thank you for your interest in NDID.
